CytoFix^® - CD4+ Immune Monitoring Controls

CytoFix^® CD4+controls are a stabilised preparation of whole human blood for use as a positive control when evaluating CD4+ enumeration procedures.

CD4+ enumeration by flow cytometry provides a rapid and accurate assessment of the frequency of CD4+ T-cells present in human blood. Quantitation of CD4+ has been shown to be useful in the evaluation of immunodeficiency. CytoFix^® CD4+ controls possess surface antigens that are detectable with monoclonal antibodies.

Subsets of leukocytes can be distinguished on the basis of light scatter properties as well as the presence of surface antigens. CytoFix^®CD4+ controls is designed to represent normal peripheral blood where lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes are distinguishable on the basis of light scatter properties on a flow cytometer.

CytoFix^®CD4+ Normal - CF04N has a CD4+ absolute count of >600 cells/µl

CytoFix^®CD4+ Low - CF04L has a CD4+ absolute count of <200 cells/µl

Quality control analysis is performed on a BD FACs Calibur with BD MultiTest^™ reagents and Trucount^™ tubes using the no wash method. CytoFix^® CD4+controls have a closed vial stability of 90 days and an open vial stability of 30 days.
