Stabilization solution to stabilise antigens for up to 10 days.

TransFix® - Bone Marrow Stabilisation

Bone marrow can be stabilised and stored in TransFix / EDTA for up to 10 days following aspiration allowing samples to be batched and transported safely. TransFix® Bone Marrow storage tubes are available in packs of 10, 25 and 50.

Bone marrow examination is an essential procedure for the evaluation of a variety of clinical hematologic disorders and for preclinical toxicity studies of anticancer compounds and immunosuppressive agents. The short processing and analysis time, and the ease with which batches of samples can be analysed, has resulted in bone marrow flow cytometry becoming a routine test in clinical laboratories.

Sample preparation for flow cytometry:

  1. 1. Place between 3ml and 5ml of aspirated bone marrow into a tube and add 0.2ml of TransFix per ml of bone marrow, and mix by inversion 5-10 times.
  2. Store at 2 – 8ºC for up to 10 days.
  3. Allow samples to return to room temperature prior to flow cytometry. Also ensure that cells are resuspended by inverting the vial 30x.
  4. Sample preparation is detailed in the protocol available in Resources.
